Your Favorite Wedding Moment and Why

my favorite moment was when i was about to be escorted up the aisle by my brother and i turned the corner and saw my future husband standing at the alter in his tux looking so handsome and i almost lost it. i was overwhelmed with how much i loved this man and how happy i was at that moment.

What You'd Change and Why

what i would change is where i ordered my party trays for my reception. i went for price and ended up with not the best quality. i should have went with my first choice and just paid a little more and got the best.

Your Wedding Song

our song was "my heart has found a home" by nick trammel and jessica brown. because my heart had found a home finally.

My Wedding Story

my husband and i actually met in september of 2003 on match.com. we talked on the phone for 2 weeks and finally agreed to meet. when me met i knew he was special. after our first date we were inseparable. i moved in with him 5 months later when he gave me my diamond engagement ring. we waited for 6 years before we married because we had both had bad marriages. in september of 2006 we started going back to church after we had drifted away from it, and we began to realize that God brought us together and he wanted us married. so on september 11th 2009 we married at our church with all our family and friends there.

Our Wedding

our wedding was on friday, september 11th, 2009 at 7 pm. i had 1 attendant . and my brother escorted me up the aisle. my father had passed away in 2005 from cancer and since my brother looked so much like my dad, i knew he was the perfect one for the job. my colors were lavender; purple and off white. my dress was a champagne color and the tuxes were black with lavender vests and the matron of honor wore a lavender gown. we were married at our church with our family there and our church family. what made it so special was it was the first time i was getting married for all the right reasons. i felt that God had truly blessed my marriage because we had no problems at all. everything went so smoothly not one problem. another thing that made it so special was a pastor friend of ours who had held revival at our church the year before had preached a sermon on marriage and that made my husband realize that we needed to be married. when we told him he was so much a help to us he told us to send him an invitation. he lives a good 3 1/2 hour drive from us. he was so touched he made the trip up for our wedding on friday and stayed over and preached at our church that sunday. he was very surprised to find the newlyweds at church on sunday morning. he said our faithfulness to God and our church was so worth the trip up. it meant so much to us to have him at our wedding and to say the wedding prayer and bless our marriage.

Advice

  • my advice to anyone planning on getting married is this. take your time. don't rush. be sure that the person you are marrying is the one God intended you to be with. if God is not in your marriage it will not last. take time to really get to know the person and be sure you want to be committed and faithful to that person. and above all know for sure that you truly love that person for themselves and that you don't want to change them.

Francesca Di Meglio, Newlyweds Guide, says:

Your faith in God really seemed to help you come together and commit to one another.
