Wedding Date:
May 17, 2008Relationship Profile:
Ashlee Simpson, 23, and Pete Wentz, 28, were young, in love, and expecting their first child when they wed. Since then, their first child Bronx Mowgli was born on Nov. 20, 2008. The rocker duo first started dating in late 2006. Like most celebrities, they first tried to keep their relationship on the down low. They have not stepped into a reality program documenting their newlywed life a la Simpson's sister Jessica. But Wentz has opened up about the couple's sex life to radio host Howard Stern. The Wedding:
Simpson and Wentz held their wedding at the Encino, Calif. home of Simpson's parents Joe and Tina. The 150 guests, which included Nicole Richie and Tony Romo, enjoyed an "Alice in Wonderland" theme and feasted their eyes on Simpson in a Monique Lhuillier dress and Wentz in a Dior Homme tuxedo with a white bow tie. Simpson's big sister Jessica was a bridesmaid and reportedly toasted the couple, while Wentz' English bulldog Hemingway served as ring bearer. The Honeymoon:
These two, who at the time were still ducking the public's questions about whether they were expecting a baby, had a rather unconventional and economical honeymoon. Wentz told the media they honeymooned in the basement of their Los Angeles home, replete with blow-up palm trees. What the Press Says about Them:
Like many celebrities, Wentz and Simpson began their relationship amid rumors, which they denied, that they were dating. Once the cat got out of the bag, however, Wentz really opened up to the public. Some say he is a case study in TMI or too much information. He recently bragged about his wife's "mean lap dance skills" to shock jock Howard Stern, and he revealed other bits about their sex life. What We Learn from Their Relationship:
Even though Wentz might have shared intimate secrets with the world, the couple refrained from selling photos of their baby. Instead, they posted photos of Bronx on Wentz' Web site and suggested that fans contribute to a few of their favorite charities. Thus, we learn that parents should not pimp out their kids and should try to improve the world.
