Wedding Date:
May 10, 2008
Relationship Profile:
Jenna Bush and Henry Hager met in 2004 during President Bush's re-election campaign. Rather than hosting a lavish White House affair, the couple chose to have a simpler, more casual affair in Crawford, Texas. They bought a town house in Baltimore, Md., where Hager works for an energy company.
The Wedding:
Bush, 26, and Hager, 30, opted out of a White House wedding in favor of a lakeside ceremony at President Bush's 1,600 acre Prairie Chapel Ranch in Crawford, Texas. The bride wore an embroidered, organza Oscar de la Renta gown. Her twin sister, Barbara, was the maid of honor. The 200 guests enjoyed dinner and dancing. Although the nuptials were fairly traditional, the couple did not have a black-tie affair -- the men wore suits -- and they opted for Super T, a singer famous with southern frat parties.
The Honeymoon:
Although they spent the first week of marriage attending his graduation from the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business and a taping of the "Ellen DeGeneres Show", where Bush appeared with her mom, the two finally made it to a Hawaiian honeymoon for some R and R.
What the Press Says about Them:
These two are an all-American dream with lots of promise, and the press seems to think so, too.
What We Learn from Their Relationship:
Simplicity can be the spice of life -- and love.
