The life stories and romance of Fergie (Stacy Ann Ferguson) and Josh Duhamel is like something out of a storybook. She, a kid star turned crystal meth addict turned rock star, meets an all-American high school athlete turned movie star, on the set of the hit show Las Vegas, in which Duhamel starred. Fergie had read in a tabloid about a dream Duhamel had about her, so she asked him if it was a good dream. He, according to Elle, said, "Yeah," and five years later, the couple finally got married and proved dreams can come true.
Fergie and Duhamel were wed on Jan. 10, 2009, at Church Estate Vineyards in Malibu, Calif. The Catholic ceremony and reception were surprisingly traditional for a rock star and Hollywood dreamboat. The bride carried an all-white bouquet and was accompanied by 10 bridesmaids, according to MTV.com. Under a tent that was decorated as a forest of trees with lights covering the ceiling, guests at the reception included the rest of the Black Eyed Peas, Kid Rock, Slash, Kate Hudson, Rebecca Romijn, Jerry O'Connell, Mario Lopez, James Caan, and Molly Sims, according to People.com.
The couple honeymooned like rock stars by making stops in a few romantic destinations over the course of their first month of marital bliss. They left for the Maldives on Jan. 13 and stayed at a private villa atop a lagoon at the One & Only Reethi Rah Resort, according to USmagazine.com. They also reportedly visited the Bahamas. Over Valentine's Day weekend, Fergie and Duhamel were spotted in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, in what was billed as a second honeymoon (and also a trip for a friend's wedding).
What the Press Says about Them:
For now, the press is having a love affair with the fairy tale that is Fergie and Duhamel. This might be a result of the fact that the couple says they try to stay out of the spotlight and seems to prefer fishing to clubbing and being seen at celebrity hot spots. There's still a bit of mystery surrounding them even though they have been together for five years, and the media eats that up.
What We Learn from Them:
Be romantic, even silly, with one another. Fergie and Duhamel do quirky romantic things together -- from taking cooking classes in Cabo San Lucas to singing karaoke on the karaoke machine they have at home, Fergie told People.com. Having fun and laughing together takes the edge off, helps make the most of everyday, and unites a couple.
