So many newlyweds start their marriages on the wrong foot by having piles and piles of debt from the start. Some even make it worse by going into deeper debt while planning the wedding. One of the wonderful aspects of having the Internet to browse is that you can find help in whatever is plaguing you. If you're in debt, there are many places to turn for a hand. Recently, I came across the Well Kept Wallet blog, which is run by Deacon Hayes, who married his wife Kim in 2008. That's about the time they realized that they had about $52,000 in debt under their belts with student loans, car payments, and credit cards. They began to turn their life around by getting rid of their debt. Now, Hayes shares their secrets of success in the blog. One of his latest entries focuses on affordable Valentine's Day gifts, which I highly recommend. His story was also the subject of a Q&A in U.S. News & World Report. I suggest checking out Hayes' story and learning a thing or two from him. We can all use tips to save money, and no one wants to live under a pile of debt. It's no fun there.
