Gift of Appreciation

Every year I offer you a bunch of holiday gift ideas for your spouse. But there is one gift that keeps on giving and that we should all be giving to our spouses all year long. No one wants to be taken for granted. The gift of appreciation is one that is appreciated by all. While I won't discourage you from wrapping up something special and putting it under the tree or near the menorah or whatever symbol represent your celebrations, I would also like you to consider what makes you feel lucky to have married your spouse. What about him or her makes you swoon still? What about him or her makes you proud? What about him or her makes you hot? Then, tell him or her about it.

In Italy, kids leave notes under their father's plate about how much they love their parents on Christmas. Why not write a similar love letter to your spouse? Now, that would be a nice gift.

I think we can get so wrapped up in complaints that we often forget to express appreciation. One way of gifting might be to wrap a complaint in 3 or more appreciative comments.
