My husband and I are pretty proud of ourselves because we finally got our cell phone bill down under $200. Saving money on bills is near impossible nowadays - or at least it always seemed that way. We used to spend a small fortune on our cell phones, partially because we have to call family, friends, and colleagues in Italy with them and partially because we didn't know how to negotiate our package. Now, we've made a concerted effort to use our cell phones as little as possible to phone Europe. Instead, we're using a Skype phone number instead (which costs $12 per month to call any land line in the world). And I called AT&T, our carrier, to find out about how we could take advantage of some of the better deals and get the price of our monthly bill down. So, we came in under $200 two months in a row now. Phew! I started making note of these little things we do for the phones and some of our other bills, and I realized that we've been saving some real money. You can, too. I share all our little tricks in "Save Money on Your Bills." If you have any tips of your own, feel free to send them to us via the very brief "Money Tips" form.
