My husband and I returned late last night from a vacation at Disney World. Now, I'm more in the holiday spirit than ever. I'm all about decorating my house with greens and garland and ornaments galore. Lucky for me About.com is offering a helping hand for anyone who wants to make their holidays -- and their home -- extra special. Here is some help for us all --
Holiday Survival Guide for Newlyweds

Big places like Disney World really put on the holiday decorations. I’m luck to get a Christmas tree going before Santa shows up.
LOL…. I’m more in line with Stan. Anymore, decorating basically only happens in my head. Not around the house. Thank goodness my mind can easily conquer up visions of silver bells and mistletoe, even though my body says nope, not this year!
Building holiday traditions together is so much fun!
We used to go to Disney World every year in early December. Nobody does decorations like Disney!
I haven’t decorated this year and at first, I didn’t miss the lights and things, but the closer it gets to Christmas, the more I regret it. I will probably go overboard next year to make up for it!
We started out with a real tree and lots of decoration. Eventually we reduced to a fake little tree and the handmade family decorations. This year it’s just a vase of holly and the ancient Christmas mugs.
I’m a minimalist when it comes to decorations. I love looking out my window though at trees I planted and watching them grow. Our family acquired 27 potted trees of several varieties and plan to plant them around our place and perhaps keep some potted, which could perhaps be could be brought indoors
Certainly is a festive time of the year. I have fond memories of my parents bundling us up and taking us for a drive around town to see all the Christmas lights about town. My sister has seven (yes 7) trees decorated in her home. She started the tradition of a having a small tree decorated for her first grandchild… since then 5 more grandchild have come along. So, they have the big family tree and 6 smaller ones.
