Today my husband and I are celebrating our first wedding anniversary. I can't believe it's already been one year of marriage. People say that the first year of marriage is the toughest. I don't know what the second year will be like, but year one definitely had its ups and downs. I'm proud -- and a little relieved -- that we got through the first year of marriage. And I feel like our relationship has grown stronger, but there's still more we can do. That's why a marriage lasts a lifetime, so you have the time to grow ever closer, learn from your mistakes, and correct yourself.
Celebrating the milestones along the way is important. Today, my husband Antonio and I will spend the entire day together. He has a big surprise for me. All I know is that I had to pack an overnight bag. I have no idea where we're going or what we're doing. Our desire to stick together and these little surprises we cook up for one another help us look forward to every day of marriage.
