Parrots in Mexico - Francesca Di Meglio

The birds above are technically not love birds, but they sure did act like an inseparable pair when my husband and I were in Mexico's Mayan Riviera for one of our two honeymoon stops nearly one year ago. (The other stop was in Florida's Walt Disney World.) To have a happy honeymoon, you must act like these birds -- eat, drink, and rest together. Pick a destination and activities that suit both of you. My husband and I gorged on food from one buffet to the next on our honeymoon (we love to eat), and then we would just lounge on the beach, hang out by the pool, or even nap in our hotel room. It was a glorious way to start our marriage. Of course, a little lovin' doesn't hurt either. After all, the honeymoon is all about the sex .

Lovely photo! It is nice to spend time together acting like lovebirds. My DH and I had a very brief honeymoon, but it was very special. We rarely have time where it’s just the two of us because we care for an elderly relative. Even just running errands together reminds how special the bond is that we continue to forge.

I’ve only seen birds like that in zoos; they’re so interesting to watch. What a great shot, and great advice!

I think you’re right – those birds do know how to honeymoon right! :) It sounds like you and your husband do too. Two honeymoons – fantastic!

P.S. Thanks for the link.

I’m jealous. I wish we went to Disney World for our honeymoon. With four kids over nine years, I barely remember the days when it was just my wife and I doing things together. The good old days.

This is so cute. Many animals and birds mate for life. they not only mirrior us but can set examples in commitment and fidelity. Excellent WW choice!
