This photo of a young couple getting married at a newly opened storefront wedding chapel in New York screamed romance to me. The idea that you so urgently need to tell the world that you are committed to this one person that you have to wed quickly in a storefront for all the world to see is exactly what I think of when I hear the phrase "young love".

Young or more mature, newlyweds are still new at being married to each other. They need to get used to married life. One of the things I quickly realized as a newlywed is that I have to take stock of my marriage continuously. You have to check the car for oil and take out the trash. And you have to tend to your relationship, too. That's why I recently updated "The Beginner's Guide to Marriage", so that it includes more advice on everything from "10 Ways to Improve Your Sex Life" to "How to Improve Communication". Now, when we're taking stock of our marriage and see something that needs fixing, we have an updated manual to which we can refer.

Marriage is a constantly evolving thing, I agree. I’ve been married only a short time but we’ve been together for many years, so we know what works for us and what doesn’t. Thanks as always for your tips, Francesca.

Um, well…That’s not my idea of romance, but then I’m not too much for public consumption of my special moments, LOL. Give me a glade in the forest and a few close friends. :)

It wouldn’t be my choice of a wedding locale either, but I think it’s great that there are lots of choices available so that every couple can have the type of wedding that suits them.

As always, Francesca, your tips are spot on.

Yes Marriage needs maintenance, fuel, regular tune ups, and a good scrub and polish now and then ;)

That’s a nice idea for a wedding; it doesn’t have to be in a church or traditional spot after all.

The great thing about wedding is that the bride and groom can have a ceremony that suits them – from a storefront chapel to a cathedral, all wedding ceremonies are about the same thing, no matter how traditional or not!

You have to continuously work on it and don’t forget to keep the romance.

I think I’d be nervous getting married in front of a store…how does my hair look??
