Make a Wedding Video
The photo above is of my maternal grandparents on their wedding day. Theirs was an arranged marriage, so they barely knew each other. My grandfather needed to marry my grandmother, who was an American, so he could move to the United States from Italy. The people around them in the piazza are picking up the Jordan almonds and flowers and coins that were thrown at the bride and groom's feet for luck. They just recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary.
My grandfather also turned 80 yesterday, and in his honor I used this photo, my own wedding photos, and many other family pictures, to create a video that he could watch on YouTube. Using iMovie, I determined how to make the photos come in and out of the frame. I also chose music to accompany the pictures, but I learned a valuable lesson. You can't use music on YouTube if you don't have the rights to it. Therefore, the video is without audio now. Still, it makes for a great tribute. Even those of you who didn't hire a videographer can create wedding videos to share with your friends and family -- or the world on YouTube.

What a lovely remind to us that everyone married was a newlywed once, and what a fantastic tribute you’ve put together for your grandfather!
I’m on a slow Internet service right now so I’m not even going to try to view the Youtube video, but hopefully will get back to it later. Happy Birthday to grandfather!
We’ll just have a nerdy relative in charge of our old-fashioned analog camera….keep him busy….lol.
I have many friends whose marriages were arranged who did not know each other prior to the wedding. There is a 2% divorce rate with arrange marriages as compared to more than 50% of people who pick their own mates. Says something about going into marriage based on commitment rather than attractions.
My neighbors from India were married via arranged marriage. They seems happy and have two adorable girls.
So cool that you still have this photo. It leads me to wonder if my grandkids will be looking at a wedding photo of me one day…
Very surprised to see so many comments on my parents wedding photo. It is one of the best photos. Glad everyone is apreciating it
Our wedding video was hilarious – my cousin’s husband interviewed wedding guests asking for advice for us…now each comment is a precious memory!
