The couple above celebrated their marriage by going on a free date, perfect for these economic times. Tickets to shows such as the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, which taped its last episode at the end of May, are free but require a bit of planning. You have to either request the tickets by mail, in which case you can usually get up to four tickets, or go to the ticket booth, where you can sometimes get two tickets if they are available and you're willing to wait in line. A pair of tickets is all newlyweds need, so that could work. But there are other ways to have fun with your new husband or wife without spending a dime. Let us know your ideas for fun free date nights.

My DH and I like to go window shopping together. We have several special haunts we frequent. We rarely buy anything, so it really is free. That is, unless we take the route that has the bookstores in it. We can’t seem to just window shop there ;)

This is going to sound odd, but we really enjoy going to church together as a couple. Attending Easter Vigil Mass has become an annual tradition for us – we take the kids to church the next day, Easter Sunday.

This is more of a date morning. Every Sunday, my husband and I go to early morning coffee and buffet at our local diner. We have 4 kids and getting out for a date night is next to impossible. This works for us!

Here in northern Tuscany we just go out on the balcony, set a couple chairs side by side and watch the swifts swerve and dart for food followed by flittering bats and then, finally the fireflies. It makes me hungry.
