My Favorite Honeymoon Destinations

This week my husband and I are vacationing in the Riviera Maya. It's a sort of second honeymoon in this our first year of marriage. The first we spent at Disney World in Florida for a long weekend. In honor of my trip and because many of you enjoy discussing where to go on your honeymoon, I decided to post my favorite places for a romantic getaway with links to more information about each right here on About.com. With Valentine's Day around the corner, these hot spots might come in handy. Here are my favorite honeymoon destinations:

4. Florence, Italy: My husband and I made this our first ever getaway together, and it was fabulous. The bridge and scenery took our breath away and made for beautiful photos of our early courtship.

3. Venice, Italy: We actually got engaged on our way back from a couple of days in one of the most romantic cities on the planet. The water, the architecture, and the gondolas scream love.

2. Riviera Maya, Mexico: I'm here right now. The ocean and ambiance only had to be half as good as people said it would be for me to put this beach getaway on this list.

1. Walt Disney World, Florida: I'm totally biased on this front. My parents took us here every year when I was a kid, and two of my relatives work for Disney now. It remains the happiest place on Earth for my husband and me. Whenever we go there, we feel like kids during the day, which puts us in a great mood and leads to romantic nights. I know it sounds crazy, but it offers everything from thrilling rides to great restaurants to terrific shows. You're never at a loss for things to do, and when you feel like a kid again, your heart is open to love and all that comes with it.

What's your favorite romantic getaway?
