A Movie Kiss for an Unforgettable Vow Renewal
Some of you already know that I was married in Italy in October, but my husband Antonio Gerenini and I hosted a vow renewal ceremony and reception in the United States for my family and friends who couldn't make it to our destination wedding. Our vow renewal ceremony was like a first-time wedding, replete with a large bridal party and my elaborate wedding gown. The only difference was that we wore our rings to the altar and they were simply blessed during the ceremony.
Our vow renewal was like a real wedding because so many of my relatives, including my grandparents (who are standing behind us in the picture above), could not make it to Italy. But yours could be a simple ceremony for just the two of you on your first anniversary. Vow renewals are a way to remind ourselves of the promises we made and must keep. If you're lucky, you'll get a movie kiss like the one I received from my husband.
