Making Each Other Happy
Monday September 15, 2008
Love is so hard. Sometimes I don't feel up to it. I think about how easy it was being alone and single and answering to no one. I even dream about what it would be like to just do whatever I want with my life without consulting anyone. But then I remember that I'm about to take on a husband. That means we have to make decisions together. We have to compromise. We have to try to consider each others' feelings and desires.
Last night, my soon-to-be husband and I were at a birthday party talking to some other couples, who are already married for some time. One of the husbands spoke up and said, "Marriage means both people have to make compromises and sacrifices to help each other find happiness." I never really thought about it that way. But that's exactly what marriage is. You work hard to make each other happy. It's not easy, and you'll make mistakes but it's necessary. Indeed, it's your most important job.

For a marriage to work and last a lifetime husband and wife need to be committed 100% to each other. This means you don’t break up after a silly fight or disagreement.Work through it.Talk,talk,talk…..even if one partner does not feel like it…..and then make up.Never, never stop being affectionate with each other or hold a grudge.Always have that loving touch. It works for us.It’s been 37 yrs. now and we still love and like each other.
I couldn’t agree more with your statement. What are some of your tips for keeping the marriage together forever?
