Marriages are like lives. They are fragile yet they often surprise us by surviving the most incredible of challenges. Sometimes, we're the ones killing ourselves. Sometimes we're the ones destroying our marriage. Sometimes, we don't even know it. In doing a story for this site, I learned that many otherwise happy couples become physically aggressive with one another during arguments. These are not batterers or abusive people as we know them. These are men and women who let their emotions get the best of them and slap or shove their spouse when things get heated.
Even if these incidents are few and far between and don't physically harm a person, they can have a terrible consequence on the marriage.
